Walters State Community College

Burchfiel Library, Electronic Library Renovation & Modernization

Sevierville, TN

This project at the Sevier County campus of Walters State Community College consists of modifications to Maples-Marshall Hall, originally designed by Community Tectonics in 1998. These improvements include renovation and expansion of the electronic library to bring it into the 21st century and the addition of a new Tutoring Classroom with computer stations. Furniture selection and layout, also provided by our design team, accommodate a circulation desk, team group study areas, and “soft seating” with power outlets for electronic devices. Whether a student is looking for private study or collaborative teamwork, students will be able to find an appropriate space within the various types of furniture and configurations. Updates also included finishes and lighting to give the electronic library a more modern appearance.
