Features include 33 full-size classrooms, 2 CDC, one resource and one English as Second Language classroom. Other spaces include an art room, music room, a media center and play gym with carpeted floor and stage. A commons area serves as gathering space as well as providing seating for food service. The office and administration area is centrally located with nearby conference rooms, toilets and storage spaces. Each classroom has a wet area, age-appropriate storage cubbies and cabinetry particular to each grade level. Pre-K and Kindergarten rooms have individual toilet facilities. Two adjacent classrooms share teacher planning/office spaces.
The Sweetwater City Board of Education wanted to create a structure with a residential scale that would blend well with the surrounding neighborhood. To accomplish this, the school was designed as a single story with a sloped, shingle hip roof. The exterior is brick with stucco fascia and soffits.
