Sevierville Program Expansion

The ETSU Sevierville Program Expansion is located in an existing, single story building in Sevierville, TN. The project consisted of “selective demolition and renovations “of unused areas in the 33,623 sq. ft. building in order to accommodate the nursing department and a collaborative learning lab.  A simulation lab, with seven nursing stations, was created to assist in teaching and training. Each station is connected via voice and camera to a central control room that can monitor and record actions at each location. Recordings are then able to be played back to a Debriefing Room to allow students to be critiqued and to observe their performance during the simulation.

The collaborative learning lab is equipped with multiple audio, computer, video, and internet connections to allow students to work individually or together in teams, in creating and documenting projects and assignments from all disciplines of learning. Furniture is modular and flexible to allow for different group sizes and configurations for maximum collaboration alternatives.

HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ventilating, and sprinkler systems were modified to serve the new spaces. Handicapped accessibility was provided to the building from the exterior.
