Pellissippi State Community College
Blount County Campus
Friendsville, TN 37737
Built to accommodate a growing student population with changing technical needs, the $22 million phase one project on the Blount County campus of PSCC is a two-story 71,309 square-foot facility. Community Tectonics also developed the master plan for future phases and site improvements on the school’s 39.56 acre site.
The 40,991 square foot main floor includes a large library area, small auditorium, art studio, general and computer classrooms, student lounge, bookstore, dining area with a catering kitchen, and features a large central lobby with an elevator column wrapped in marble.
The first floor also houses the 2,500 square foot manufacturing lab – complete with 10-ton crane and giant bay doors – which allows the college to easily exchange equipment as the needs of the manufacturing sector in Blount County change.
The second level houses additional classrooms, faculty offices, science labs, and the school’s nursing program where students have access to advanced technical training including simulation labs with computerized mannequins.
The project also included extensive outdoor parking, perimeter fencing and signage, fountain, amphitheater, and a maintenance storage building.
The project was completed as a joint venture with another firm.
