Fairmount Elementary School
This Pre K-5 elementary school was the first new educational facility built in the City of Bristol in over 35 years. Fairmount combined two existing elementary schools (Fairmount Elementary and Central Elementary School) into one, thus great care was taken to preserve the rich history of both schools while equipping the new elementary school with all the modern technology needed to put Fairmount Elementary on the cutting edge.
With 74,065 sq. ft. and a core capacity of 600 students, Fairmount Elementary features “green” elements incorporated throughout the site and building. Geothermal HVAC, natural daylighting and lighting control systems in all rooms allow teachers and students to enjoy individual room comfort. Underground storm-water storage, preservation of trees, recycling of demolished materials incorporated into the new structure are a few of the other many “green” features that Fairmount was proud to incorporate into their facility. This will be a model school for many years come.
